Trims and Powertrains
The 2023 Impreza Sedan comes in three trims: Base, Premium, and Sport. All versions have a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine making 152 horsepower connected to a standard all-wheel-drive system. A five-speed manual transmission comes standard in the Base, while a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is optional in the Base and standard on the other two trims.
The Impreza Sedan Base with the manual transmission is EPA rated for 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The CVT changes the estimated fuel economy to 28 mpg around town and 36 mpg on the open road for the Base and Premium (27 city/36 highway for the Sport).
Standard Features and Major Options
The Impreza Sedan Base gets air conditioning, fabric-trimmed seating, keyless entry, a tilt/telescopic steering column, power side mirrors, cruise control, 60/40-split folding rear seats, and 16-inch steel wheels with covers as standard equipment. The Premium adds heated front seats, a windshield wiper de-icer, heated side mirrors, fog lights, paddle shifters, automatic headlights, and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The upgrades (minus the fog lights) for the Impreza Sedan Sport include sport cloth upholstery, proximity keyless entry with push-button start, a leather-wrapped steering and shifter knob, a color multifunction display, aluminum-alloy pedal covers, a rear spoiler, and 18-inch wheels. The Sport also gets an advanced-tuned suspension and active torque vectoring for better cornering and an overall improved ride.
The Premium and Sport are available with the optional Convenience Package, which adds a power moonroof, a six-way power driver's seat, and additional tech features (described in the remaining sections). The Premium will also get proximity keyless entry with push-button start when this package has been elected.
Advanced Driver Aids and Safety Technology
Subaru EyeSight technology is standard on all 2023 Impreza Sedan trims; the system has automatic pre-collision braking and throttle management, lane keep assist, and lane departure and sway warning. The optional Convenience Package (Premium and Sport) adds blind-spot monitoring with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert. The standard supporting safety technology includes multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes (ABS), traction control, vehicle stability control, a brake override system (to prevent unintended acceleration), and a rearview monitor.
Infotainment and Connectivity
Infotainment in the Impreza Sedan Base is centered around a 6.5-inch touchscreen enhanced by Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a four-speaker sound system, and a front USB port. The Premium gets an additional USB port, a six-speaker audio system, SiriusXM satellite radio, and access to a Wi-Fi hotspot and Subaru’s Starlink system for emergency support and vehicle monitoring. An 8-inch touchscreen and rear USB ports are standard on the Sport, while the Sport Convenience Package also adds an eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system.
